I see my oncologist, Dr. Dormady, every 3 months. He is only 3 years older than me and always very cheerful. I like going to see him. I had a regular appt with him this morning. He said "Mikiko, you hit the 2 years mark, so that you will have to see me only every 6 months for next 3 years." It's been 2 years since my last chemotherapy. It seems more than 2 years in some aspect, but also, it seems less than 2 years, too. After I see him every 6 months for 3 years, I will see him once a year forever. He said I can come to his retirement party.
I might forget how sick I felt with chemo drugs but I won't forget how confused and helpless I was. Every time I go into his office, I see other cancer patients. I pray for them to do well and get their health back as soon as possible.

Hi Mikiko, I am so gald your feeling so much better. I just wanted to post soemthing after coming across your blog while searching for bone scan images after having had one myself for back pain this week, and I noticed you mentioned some back pain in your blog post "Bone Scan..CLEAR".
I am surprised that the Dr didn't mention that the likely cause for your back pain is mild scoliosis, there is a clear curve in your spine from one side to the other, when it should be totally straight when lying prone, and looked at from the front or rear.
You should make sure they do periodic checks (once a year) to ensure the curve isn't progressing, as it could cause you problems later on in life.
If it doesn't cause you too much pain at the moment, then you will probably be OK with just getting the periodic checks, but it's something you should be aware of as it may lead to worsening back pain if it is left untreated if it is a progressive curve.
I have a type of scoliosis called kyphosis where it curves more forward, instead of the side to side of more common scoliosis, causing an imbalance...but when I saw your scan I just thought you might want to take it to your Dr to ask him about it.....and that if you do experience back pain, you shouldn't be alarmed that it may be the cancer, it's more likley to be due to the scoliosis.....hope you are well, take care...Karen
May you continue to be blessed with great health!
